Grad Students

Engaging Future Sustainability Leaders

Graduate students play a vital role in Cornell Atkinsons’s collaborative network of experts and innovators pursuing long-term solutions for a sustainable world. To date, more than 175 graduate students have joined Atkinson-sponsored research projects led by Faculty Fellows, received funding from our grant programs, or joined our community of graduate and postdoctoral Research Fellows. Graduate student research in sustainability covers an impressive range of innovative and impactful topics that help advance Cornell Atkinson’s four key goals of increasing food security, reducing climate risk, accelerating energy transitions, and advancing health.

Our programs create opportunities for graduate students to mentor undergraduates, including grant supplements to hire undergraduate researchers. Contact us to get involved in sustainability research and other activities, including mentorship opportunities through our Small Grants, Sustainable Biodiversity Fund, Research Fellows Collaborative Grants, and other Research Fellows opportunities.
