ACSF Receives $150K Sesquicentennial Gift
As alumni celebrated Cornell’s 150th anniversary at 2015 Charter Day, Cornell’s Atkinson Center received a memorable birthday present.
David Drinkwater ’94 celebrated the Sesquicentennial by making a $150,000 gift to the Atkinson Center. The gift is earmarked for critical research in the renewable energy and environment sectors.
Drinkwater first experienced ACSF’s multidisciplinary effort to create a more sustainable world at a climate change panel during Reunion 2014, where he also reconnected with his undergraduate research adviser, Atkinson Center director Frank DiSalvo.
“It is wonderful to see cutting-edge research merge with long-standing personal relationships,” says development director Chris Miller. “We’re delighted that a key Cornell anniversary has yielded such thoughtful support.”
A materials science and engineering grad, Drinkwater works at Honeywell in Richardson, Texas.
