In a December op-ed in The Hill, conservation scientist Amanda Rodewald weighs in on potential policy changes at the Environmental Protection Agency and the practical costs of dismantling federal environmental regulations:

This we know: a healthy environment is the foundation for public, community, and individual health and prosperity. We don't need altruism as justification for supporting environmental regulations; it's simply in our best interest to do so. By protecting our environment, we protect the health and well-being of current and future generations and provide a powerful stimulus to our economy.

The op-ed is part of a series supported by the Atkinson Center.
