Eleven Cornell faculty were selected for the Atkinson Center's first Fellowship for Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts. The group includes established scholars and early-career faculty from nine departments and four colleges.

Project topics range from international climate justice to subconscious stereotypes in sustainability messaging, economic modeling of payments for ecosystem services, and the politics of energy policy. They also span the globe, from art installations in Ithaca to investigations of coal and oil cultures in China and Russia. Projects include  preparing books, exploratory research, course development, public engagement, high-level conferences, and artistic endeavors. The scholars will work together and across the university to build productive, inter-disciplinary dialogues while in residence at Rice Hall, home of the Atkinson Center.
