Chemical engineering PhD student Maciej Lukawski is one of three graduate students in the U.S. and British Columbia to receive a scholarship from the Geothermal Resources Council, a nonprofit based in Davis, California. The $2,500 awards recognize the students’ academic performance, geothermal industry experience, and career goals.

Lukawski’s work at Cornell is funded by a National Science Foundation Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) grant in Earth-Energy Systems. Cornell’s IGERT programs receive partial financial support from the Atkinson Center.
