Alex Travis is a professor of reproductive biology and associate dean for international programs and public health in the College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as director of the Master of Public Health program. His research explores a diverse set of subjects related to One Health – interdisciplinary work that links the functions and wellbeing of people, animals, and the environment. His interests include animal health and fertility as well as efforts to help alleviate poverty and hunger in developing countries, work that indirectly benefits local wildlife. He serves on the Faculty Advisory Board of the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability and is a previous faculty director for the One Health working group. From 2013-2016 Travis was the Cornell Atkinson Faculty Director for Environment.
