The Next Frontier of Federal Clean Energy Innovation and Tech Policy
Climate Week NYC 2025
Thursday, 9/25 | 1:30-3 p.m.
Cornell Tech – Tata Innovation Center, 5th Floor
Registration CLOSED
Hosts: Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability, Clean Air Task Force
Clean energy innovation remains a critical policy domain that intersects the global effort to address climate change with domestic strategic objectives of economic competitiveness and industrial policy. With the passage of landmark laws like the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and CHIPS and Science Act, the U.S. has seen a surge in investment across advanced renewables, hydrogen, carbon capture, nuclear, batteries, and more.
Federal policy has since shifted, with the recent One Big Beautiful Bill Act curtailing or reversing several clean energy provisions, and artificial intelligence introducing new variables into the energy and innovation landscape. Where do we go from here?
Please join Clean Air Task Force, the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability, and other experts for an engaging discussion on:
- The current state of U.S. clean energy innovation and technology policy
- Gaps in the innovation ecosystem and regulatory framework
- The implications of AI for clean energy development
- What’s needed to ensure emerging technologies reach their full climate and economic potential
