Advancing Research and Transforming Policy
Cornell Atkinson’s partnership with Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) sponsors research and an internship program. Through our jointly-managed grants program, we are accelerating problem-solving research relevant to policies and catalyzing the rapid integration of new research into policy.
Our partnership also empowers a new generation of student leaders to follow in the footsteps of EDF President Fred Krupp, who began at EDF three decades ago as an intern. Our summer internship program places students in EDF offices across the country to participate in practical solutions to environmental challenges and benefit from engaged, experiential learning.
September 30 – October 1, 2024: All PI-eligible Cornell faculty are invited to join us on campus for a workshop dedicated to fostering the research-to-action pathway between EDF and Cornell researchers on key sustainability issues. Explore and develop proposals for competitive funding, with up to $100,000 available per project. (Register)
