Buz Barstow is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. His research focuses on the problem of biological energy capture: the primary bottleneck in the conversion of sustainable energy to fuel. We study energy capture in microbes by applying physical principles, genetic engineering, and novel high-throughput methods.
