Verne Thalheimer

Verne Thalheimer is associate director of the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability. In this role, he directs operations, finances, and staff development, along with a variety of additional responsibilities.

Prior to joining the Cornell Atkinson team in September 2023, Verne spent 12 years in operations and program director roles with executive MBA programs at Cornell’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. He also spent five years as an administrative director in Cornell’s College of Engineering.

In addition to his work at Cornell, Verne brings 10 years of environmental policy experience having supported a number of clean transportation programs at the federal, state, and local levels.
